Our Working Practices

Kingslegal manages the pace of litigation by proven working practices.

  • Benchmarks - We have unique working practices based on our internally developed benchmarks which we have branded ‘Pragma’.

Kingslegals focus is to ensure that all of our members work at optimum levels. We are confident that an excellent working environment and achievable targets improve performance. We have achieved this through consultation and workshops with our stakeholders. We have concluded that a combination of chargeable hours and file throughput is the best model. Work is banded to ensure that cases are allocated to lawyers with the requisite level of experience.

  • Case management – Our case management system has in-built checks to ensure conformance to client specifications. It gives the quickest possible routes to required management information – both for Kingslegal, and for our clients who are provided with remote access to their cases.

  • Files – Time is saved by our strict tried and tested filing systems.

  • Communications – all communications are dealt with by the appropriate degree of urgency to seek to achieve settlements or hearing dates within our benchmarked targets.

  • Fraud - In the UK alone, fraud is estimated to have peaked at £16 billion generally – with fraudulent claims costing the insurance industry alone between £1-2 billion a year.  A recent ABI survey found that 47% of people would not rule out making an exaggerated claim while 37% would consider making a totally false claim.

At Kingslegal we have a designated Fraud team of senior lawyers who deal exclusively with suspicious or exaggerated claims. It is standard procedure at Kingslegal to make an initial check for potential fraud. However, we are particularly sensitive as to how careful defendant insurers must be when alleging fraud.
